The beautiful Cotswolds Commons (managed by National Trust) are just a five minute drive or a 20 -30 minute walk up Brimscombe Hill via footpaths and offer some of the finest views in the country, taking in the endless landscape of the Cotswolds as well as the Severn Estuary and even Wales on a good day. Abundant with flora and fauna, cattle and horses graze freely over the common land. Dotted with picturesque villages such as Minchinhampton, Amberley and Box there are plenty of opportunities for fine dining in gastro pubs as well as real ale pubs on the commons. Winstone’s Ice Cream Factory Shop near The Bear at Rodborough provides the perfect stop-over on a sunny day for a refreshing treat and panoramic views over the glorious undulating Golden Valley.
