3.5 miles from Stroud offering shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and major transport links
1.5 miles from Nailsworth – much loved amongst foodies for it’s restaurants and pubs, monthly market and shops selling anything from gifts to arts to wonderful local produce
Perfect for walkers & cyclists
Sitting on the edge of Woodchester village in the Nailsworth Valley, this spacious retreat has a pub less than a mile away and nestles close to the Commons with some of the most beautiful National Trust managed common land in the country. Here you can enjoy outstanding panoramic views over the Cotswolds and towards the Severn Estuary with Wales beyond. Horses and cattle can be seen roaming freely across the Commons, and the grassland slopes are home to wildflower species (including thirteen species of orchid) and rare butterfly. The Commons villages of Minchinhampton, Box and Amberley provide local award winning combinations of fine dining and real ale pubs and there are more restaurants and inns dotted throughout the area. Winstone’s Ice Cream Factory Shop near The Bear at Rodborough provides a convenient place to stop for a refreshing treat on a hot summer’s day whilst taking in the wonderful views over the Golden Valley.
